The Capitoline wolf (ref 837), Etruskisk 450 BC, in Rome in front of the Lateran before 1000, to the Capitol Hill since 1471 Rome, Palazzo Conservatori In. 1181, The Royal Cast Collection (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with Memento Beta (now Remake) from Autodesk.
The Capitoline Wolf (Italian: Lupa Capitolina) is a bronze sculpture of a she-wolf suckling twin human infants, inspired by the legend of the founding of Rome. According to the legend, when Numitor, grandfather of the twins Romulus and Remus, was overthrown by his brother Amulius, the usurper ordered the twins to be cast into the Tiber River. They were rescued by a she-wolf who cared for them until a herdsman, Faustulus, found and raised them. The Capitoline Wolf has been housed since 1471 in the Palazzo dei Conservatori on the Campidoglio (the ancient Capitoline Hill), Rome, Italy. (Wikipedia)
But the order is poorly executed, the newborns are abandoned in a basket on the river, survive miraculously (protected by the gods, says the legend), and are discovered under a wild fig tree (the Ficus Ruminalis) located in front of the entrance of the Lupercale cave, at the foot of the Palatine Hill, by a she-wolf (Lupa) who nurses them and by a woodpecker, the bird of Mars.
Romulus and his warriors have no women, so they decide to invite the neighbouring people, the Sabines to a party. They close the doors, drunk the men, then kill them and keep the women. Titus Tatius, king of the Sabines, then declared war on the Romans. The war lasts until the Sabines intervene between their fathers and the Romans. Titus Tatius and Romulus will then share the kingship for five years. When Titus Tatius dies, he is solemnly buried on Mount Aventine.
There, a wolf watched over the children. Later, Romulus and Remus were found in the den of the animal by a shepherd named Faustulus, who brought them home. They were raised as shepherds but soon their leadership and fighting skills made them famous. One day, Numitor met Remus and guessed who he was. The family has reunited again but the two brothers could not content themselves with living peacefully at Albe-la-Longue. They left to found their own city. However, a quarrel broke out between the twins.
A wolf, called Luperca, approached the river to drink; she recovered them and breastfed in her lair on the Palatine Hill until they were found and saved by a priest who will have them raised by his wife. As adults, the twins will restore their grandfather Numitor to the throne of Alba Long and will found a city on the right bank of the Tiber, where they were suckled by the wolf, to finally become kings. It is said that the wolf that suckled Romulus and Remus was actually their adopted human mother. The term wolf, Latin Lupa, was also used pejoratively, to designate the prostitutes of the time.

Normally a werewolf will get their wolf at age 16, and shift for the first time at 18 and find their mate. But when Willow Mason was just 10 years old she received her wolf and shifted. Her mother knew what this meant, so she faked her daughter's death and hid her way deep in the forest so no one would find out she was still alive. Knowing Willow was the rare white wolf, that wore the Crescent Moon mark on her forehead, meant Williow was the chosen Moon goddess descendent. Her mother lied to her so she would stay hidden. She could not let others know her daughter was the chosen one. But what happens when the beta follows her out in the forest one day and finds Willow? Will he Remember his old friend and bring her home? Or will he keep her hidden for his own gain? What happens when the Alpha finds out about her? Willows life of hiding is about to change and Mother is not happy.
Within 10 minutes, Tammy's eyes were wide as the moon. Standing on all fours in front of her stood a pure white wolf. The rarest of wolves. They were never really heard of. In fact, Tammy had only been told of one other white from centuries ago. Tammy took a closer look at her daughter and noticed that in the center of the wolf's forehead was a mark of a Crescent Moon.
She told Willow that she was in danger; people were trying to kill her. Willow could not understand why people would want to kill her. She asked her mother why, and the answer she got was she had been bad, and her wolf was an evil wolf. Her mother made her promise to obey her and stay hidden. No one was to ever find out she was still alive.
For 8 long years, Willow lived alone in that old run-down cabin deep in the woods. Once a month, Tammy would visit and bring food, clothes, and other items for her. Willow spent her time playing with the forest animals and learned to control and use her powers on her own. But Willow was still lonely and missed her friends' father and the pack. Tammy told her Lucas had been the Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack for two years now. He took it over when he turned 18, and because I could not be the next beta, he made Kyle his beta. When Willow would ask to go home, Tammy would tell her Alpha Lucas would kill her on the spot if he were to find out the bad girl with the evil wolf was still alive. She would remind her that her wolf was never to be seen by anyone. Willow wishes she could have taken her birthright as a beta. She could understand what she could have done for everyone to think she was bad and that they wanted her dead.
So today, I was heading to the training field when I saw Tammy entering the woods with bags in her hands again. I shifted and followed her. When she was far enough away from the pack training fields, she shifted, picked up the bags, and took off running. I never thought she was going to stop running. I was beginning to think I was wrong and she was telling me the truth, but then 2 hours later of nonstop running, she finally stops in front of an old cabin that seems to have been fixed up a bit. I heard her yelling something. I listen with my wolf hearing,

We knew it couldn't last. After the giddy heights of last week's astonishing roundup, we were denied similar excitement this time around. It was tumbleweed on PSN and Minis, complete dross from WiiWare and a solitary XBLA release to focus on, Zeit, also available from Steam.
My readers may scoff when I tell them that at the end of a fortnight I felt like running away. The silence and isolation which had amused me at first became a slow torture at last, and, poor-spirited wretch that I was, my only comfort was in now and then crying in bed in the dark.
I suppose I must have dropped off myself at last; for the next thing I remember, it was broad daylight, and the young cad was sitting on the top of me as merry as a cricket, trying to prize my eyes open with his fingers.
On the rugged shore of the Northern Sea, where the summer sun never sets, there stood long ago a grim bleak fortress, called the Tower of the North-West Wind. Before it stretched the sea, which thundered ceaselessly at its base, like a wolf that gnaws at the root of some noble oak. On either side of it glittered the blue fiord, dotted with numberless islets, throwing its long arms far inland. Behind it frowned a dense forest of pines as far as eye could reach, in which the wind roared day and night, mingled often with the angry howls of the wolves.
In case any of my readers, as is possible, should be unacquainted with the story of Romulus and Remus, let me say that I believe (but am not quite sure) that they were two twin brothers, both boys, left orphans at an early age, and nursed by a stepmother in the shape of a wolf. They were subsequently discovered, and having grown to manhood, it occurred to Romulus to build Rome. For this modest undertaking Remus chaffed his brother, and practised the high jump over his walls, naturally damaging them considerably. Whereupon Romulus knocked him on the head, and lived happily ever afterwards.
You must know I had pulled off the third history prize in our division last term, and therefore felt more or less friendly disposed to the kings and queens generally, and was even a little curious to see what they looked like, now that I was supposed to know more about them than most fellows do.
A dead silence followed the close of this story, and all eyes, by a sort of common instinct, were turned towards the head of the table. At that moment, apparently from the terrace outside, came a sound of footsteps; and as they listened, every cheek grew suddenly pale, and a shudder crept round the assembly. The silence, however, was broken by a laugh from the young laird himself, who had been the only unmoved hearer of this last mysterious sound. 2ff7e9595c
